SPONGEBOB SQUAREPANTS: MONSTER ISLAND ADVENTURES
Monster Island Adventures was made to support the release of a SpongeBob's 19th season debut internationally, as commissioned by Nick International's On-Air team.
It was requested that we create an evergreen Spongebob game that was unlike anything else in our catalogue of "expected genre games" for Spongebob. Inspired by the Dream Daddy mini-game of the Daughter Pokemon Battle, I pitched the same "comedic battle" design for classic iterations of Spongebob characters, highlighting the evolution of the brand throughout its history (and internet culture).
Throughout the four month development, I led production and supervised comedic dialogue scripting with an external development team. My main responsibilities were providing design feedback at deliverables, sourcing relevant Spongebob memes, managing milestones, writing dialogue, providing updates to the show-runner, delivering feedback from the Nickelodeon brand team, and making task priority decisions with the developers.
